HeatSync Labs Breaks Ground in Mesa!

HeatSync Labs officially finalized our lease in Mesa yesterday, and we've wasted no time putting our banner on our new location so that everyone in downtown Mesa realizes this! Our new location is pretty awesome and full of possibilities, but there is a lot of work to be done in getting it up to speed, and we'll be needing all the help we can get to make this happen. For anyone in Mesa who may have been on the fence on joining unless we moved into town, congratulations on winning us over! Now convince us we can afford to stay here.

For anyone interested in checking our the new space first-hand, a tour will be given on Friday, June 3rd at 7pm.

With the news about THE SONY hACK being on the minds of all who listen or read the media, I think that the group is asking for problems even though you are not really hacking.

I think the emphasis of the group ios expanding the knowledge and abilities of the computer and not hacking data.

Capteod, we’re taking the word hacker back from the media and returning it to its positive, scrappy roots. Hackerspace is a technical term for what we are– we hack on things to make them better. We’re not going to run scared from a word just because of media sensationalism.

Most of what we do involves electronics more than computers, and none of what we do is illegal or bad. We’re the “good hackers.”

Out of curiosity, does anyone know if it’d be possible to show up late for that tour by fifteen minutes or so? My family and I are taking an archery class in Chandler that ends when the tour starts.
